My name is Ana Torma, the founder of Ana Torma Literary Agency. The agency was created as a result of my immense enthusiasm about children’s literature and the international experience (Serbia and Spain) I have been gaining since 2007 as a librarian and an English teacher working with children. In 2017 I started the project related to children’s literature Lonac Slikovnica (Serbian for “a pot of picture books”). It is a blog dedicated solely to picture books and the only one, to my knowledge, of that kind in Serbia. The experience I gained through the blog, as well as contacts pulled me further into the world of picture books.
Ana Torma Literary Agency is a young agency with big plans. With the advantage of living between Serbia and Spain, my mission is to work on connecting countries from the region of Western Balkans with international markets through negotiating international book publishing rights.
Focused exclusively on children’s books of all ages and, with a particular interest in picture books, my aim is building a long term relationship with illustrators, authors and publishers, representing their work internationally.
My objective is to guide illustrators, authors and publishers through all stages of the publishing process, from developing a portfolio to negotiating contracts, managing foreign rights and everything in between.
